Former Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan Defeated For The Seventh Consecutive Time

Chennai, May 5,AIMA Media Update News : Former Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan has suffered an electoral defeat for the seventh consecutive time. Contesting on behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from the Mylapore constituency in Tamil Nadu, she was defeated by TVK candidate P. Venkataramanan.

Former Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan a figure well known to the people of Telangana experienced a record-breaking defeat in the Tamil Nadu elections. It has been proven once again that electoral victory, it seems, is simply not written in her destiny. She has now lost in elections for the seventh time in a row.

Tamilisai contested from the Mylapore Assembly constituency and campaigned extensively. Union Home Minister Amit Shah even stepped in to campaign on her behalf, participating in an election rally. Tamilisai, who harbored high hopes that she would finally make her entry into the legislature this time around, was handed a bitter result by the local electorate.

While the TVK candidate emerged victorious in the seat she contested, the DMK secured the second position. In the Mylapore constituency, Tamilisai was relegated to third place. Such crushing defeats have seemingly become a recurring pattern for her.

She has contested in Lok Sabha elections three times and in Assembly elections four times. Due to her defeats in these various elections, Tamilisai Soundararajan has been unable to secure a seat in either the Parliament or the State Assembly. This time, amidst the "Vijay tsunami" the wave of victories for the TVK Tamilisai's defeat was all but inevitable. She contested and lost in the elections held in 2006 (Radhapuram), 2009 (Chennai North Lok Sabha), 2011 (Velachery), 2016 (Virugambakkam), 2019 (Thoothukudi Lok Sabha), and 2024 (Chennai South Lok Sabha). With consecutive defeats in seven elections, dark clouds have gathered over her political future.
