Jabalpur accident who take responsibility?

The recent tragedy in Jabalpur involving the Bargi Dam cruise capsize on April 30, 2026, has led to immediate disciplinary actions and a high-level investigation. At least nine people lost their lives when the vessel, operated by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, overturned during a storm.
The responsibility and subsequent actions taken are as follows:
Immediate Disciplinary Actions
The Madhya Pradesh government has held several individuals directly responsible for negligence:
Terminations: The services of the cruise pilot (Mahesh Patel), the helper (Chhotelal Gond), and the ticket counter in-charge (Brijendra) were terminated immediately.
Suspensions: Sunil Maravi, the Manager of Hotel Maikal Resort and Boat Club Bargi, was suspended for negligence in his duties.
Inquiry: Regional Manager Sanjay Malhotra has been attached to the headquarters pending a departmental inquiry.
