Legislators Flag Grassroots Concerns; Minister Javed Rana Assures Swift Action on Development Priorities in J&K
Jammu, April 29: In a concerted effort to address pressing developmental challenges across Jammu & Kashmir, Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, in an interaction with legislators and former ministers reviewed constituency-specific issues and streamline governance interventions.
The interaction served as a crucial platform for elected representatives to present firsthand accounts of the difficulties faced by people at the grassroots level.
Legislators emphasized the need for targeted and timely government action to resolve long-pending issues, particularly in sectors such as water supply, tribal welfare, forest management, and allied infrastructure.
They highlighted gaps in service delivery and urged the Minister to expedite decisions on projects that have remained stalled, stressing that delays were directly impacting public welfare and local development.
They called for improved coordination among departments to ensure efficient implementation of schemes and better outreach to underserved communities.
Appreciating the active engagement of the legislators, Rana described them as an essential bridge between the administration and the public.
He noted that their close connection with constituents provides valuable insights into real-time challenges, which are critical for informed policymaking and effective execution of development programs.
Reaffirming Omar Abdullah government’s commitment to inclusive and balanced development, the Minister assured that all concerns raised during the meeting would be taken up on priority.
He directed the concerned departments to initiate prompt and result-oriented action, with a particular focus on addressing the needs of marginalized and remote areas.
The meeting witnessed participation from several prominent legislators, including Legislators Rajeev Bhagat, Bharat Bhushan, Thakur Randhir Singh, Khurshied Ahmed, Gharu Ram Bhagat, Altaf Kaloo, and Mir Mohammad Fayaz. Former Minister Abdul Ghani Malik and former MLC Ravinder Sharma were also present and contributed to the deliberations.
