Poonch, April 27:
A monthly review meeting of the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) staff was conducted at the कार्यालय of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Poonch under the chairmanship of Chief Medical Officer Dr. Parvaiz Ahmed Khan.

During the meeting, the staff was sensitized about the spread, prevention, signs, symptoms, and diagnosis of vector-borne diseases, particularly malaria and dengue. The session was jointly addressed by CMO Poonch Dr. Parvaiz Ahmed Khan and District Health Officer Dr. Mohd Azam, who emphasized the importance of early detection and timely intervention to control outbreaks.

The officials directed the field staff to intensify awareness campaigns at Anganwadi centres, schools, colleges, and public gatherings. They stressed that educating the public at the grassroots level is crucial to preventing the spread of these diseases.

In addition to vector-borne diseases, the staff was also instructed to raise awareness about water-borne illnesses and heat-related health issues during their field visits, especially in view of the changing weather conditions.

The CMO further urged all staff members to maintain punctuality and ensure that assigned targets are achieved within the stipulated time frame. He highlighted the need for coordinated efforts and active community participation to strengthen public health initiatives in the district.
