Do not disrupt public transport – full protection to staff attending duties: District SP Smt. Sneha Mehra, IPS.

In view of the TGSRTC strike, District SP Smt. Sneha Mehra, IPS, today visited the bus depot and bus stand in Parigi town and reviewed the security arrangements on the ground. On this occasion, she interacted with RTC officials and enquired about the movement of buses and the measures being taken for the convenience of passengers. Later, addressing the officers deployed on bandobast duty, she stated that the current priority is to ensure that the public does not face any transportation inconvenience and instructed them to remain constantly vigilant to prevent any untoward incidents.

During the strike, the SP madam assured that drivers, conductors, and other staff attending to duties need not feel any fear or anxiety. “We will provide full protection from the police department to every employee attending to duties. Strict legal action will be taken against anyone who tries to obstruct duties or attempts to damage government property or buses,” she clarified. While stating that there is a democratic right to protest, she cautioned that it should not cause inconvenience to the general public’s daily life and travel.

She further informed that the situation is currently peaceful in all three depots in the district and that adequate security will be provided to staff who are willing to attend to duties voluntarily. The SP stated that passengers can continue their journeys without any concern and that the police machinery will remain available at all times. She appealed to the public and RTC staff to cooperate with the police in maintaining law and order.

Parigi DSP Srinivas, CI Srinivas Reddy, RTC officials, and staff participated in the programme.
