#Assam | A school teacher from Guwahati went missing on Friday under alarming circumstances after reportedly making a distress call to her family during her journey to work, prompting a police search operation across the city.
The missing woman, identified as Bhabana Sarma, was travelling from her residence in Tetelia towards Azara in a cab when the incident unfolded. According to preliminary information, Sharma contacted her family midway through the journey and repeatedly said, “I am in danger,” before her phone abruptly switched off.
Her family, unable to reach her despite repeated attempts, lodged a formal complaint with the police. Acting swiftly, the Jalukbari Police Station initiated a search operation to trace her whereabouts. Sources indicate that her mobile location was last detected near the Gauhati University area before going offline.
Authorities said further details will be shared as the search continues. The case has raised serious concern among residents, highlighting safety issues for commuters in the city.
