Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain emphasised that it is crucial for girls aged 14-15 to receive the HPV vaccine, as it serves as an effective shield against serious diseases like cervical cancer. She informed that the vaccine is available free of cost at all government hospitals in the district, urging parents to ensure timely vaccination for their daughters.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that cervical cancer is a major disease among women, primarily caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. Administering the HPV vaccine at the age of 14-15 can significantly reduce the risk of this disease in the future. She described the vaccine as a strong protective shield for girls' health, adding that it has no side effects and is completely safe.
Ashika Jain noted that due to lack of awareness, many parents overlook this vital vaccination, even though timely administration helps protect daughters from severe illnesses. She stressed the need to spread awareness about the HPV vaccine in society.
She mentioned that the district administration and health department are jointly working to educate people, enabling more girls to benefit from this free facility. The Deputy Commissioner appealed to parents to take their 14-15-year-old daughters to the nearest government hospital for the HPV vaccine.
The Deputy Commissioner asserted that safeguarding daughters' health is everyone's responsibility, and the HPV vaccine is a key step in this direction. Social awareness and timely vaccination can prevent diseases like cervical cancer.
