The Earth Day has been celebrated at the Tarlaguda Upper Primary School today i.e on 22nd April 2026. The programme started with welcome song by the students and lighting of lamps. Dr. Ramesh Chandra Dash , social activist and Founder of GLOBES Foundation and Mrs Laxmi Mastiputia Sarpanch oof Marichamala Gram Panchayat graced the occasion as Chief guest and guest of honour while Dr. Ashok Mohanty, Presidential Awardee Teacher and social activist joined as special invited guests . Sri MAdhusidan Panda ,retired Agricultural Engineer and Sri T Subudhi , Ex CRCC also joined as guest of honour. The Headmasters of the School Mrs. Manjula Prusty presided over the meeting. Other teachers of the school Mrs sukanti Das ..Mr. D Satyabati , Baishnab Jagadala ..and others Coordinated in smooth conduct of the programme. Starting the programme, Dr Ashok Mohanty highlighted on the importance of celebration of the Earthday with special emphasis on special contribution of mother Earth for the society. He also recited the Earthsongs and helped the students to recite. In a special style . Sarpanch Mrs. Mastiputia expressed her high satisfaction and praised the headmaster and organisers of the school for conducting such a noble function in the school under her area and promised to extend all assistance in this direction. Mr. Subudhi in his address advised the students to remember the mother Earth and protect it for a sustainable development of the universe and gave tips for daily practice. Mr Panda focussed on special importance of trees and advised students to protect and take action for creating awareness on deforestation. The Chief Guest Dr. Dash highlighted on importance of the day by highlighting on the history of celebration in 1070 at USA and how it became a world phenomena by spreading into 140 countries within a short time of 20 years . He also advised the students to celebrate their birthdays by planting trees. Take action for water conservation, aforestration, avoid use of plastic, maintain environment friendly circumstances in their day to Day life and create awareness in the society. Ten numbers of trees were planted in the campus by the guests and teachers. Dr. Dash advised the students to take care of the trees for their proper growth by sharing responsibility classwise. Students were also advised to take action for plantation in surrounding hills. Debate competion and song recital was conducted among the students . All participants were awarded prizes by the guests. At the end of the programme a group photograph was taken followed by vote of thanks by Mrs Das. A unique motivational inspiration was noticed among the students . The Headmistress expressed heartfelt gratitude to Dr.Ramesh Dash, founder of Globes and Dr. Ashok Mohanty for taking special interest for organising the programme in the school and requested to visit the school and organize more such pro grammes for benefit of the students.
