THEATRE FESTIVAL BESIDE THE BANK OF RIVER GANGA

Panihati is a popular place nearer to the city of joy Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. In the river bank there are so many temples standing with its beauty and history. The local theatre group Belghoria Hatekhori organised one day festival of art in the courtyard of temple called Payn Thakurbari on the very first day of Bengali calendar 1 Boishakh 1433, 15th April 2026. There were four performances in this festival. Hatekhori perform the drama 'Anupasthit', Madhyamgram Nrityabitan presents 'Angadar Sathe Dekha Hoechilo', Sundarban Natyacharcha Kendra presents 'Bhul Rasta' and Not A Storyteller perform story-theatre 'Agadoom Baghadoom'. There was a beautiful performance of Pandavani, performed by Mery Acharya. On the lap of nature this festival became a bridge of friendship through the art. A book on history of Bengali theatre written by Tushar Bhattacharya was published by eminent Thespian Dr. Asish Goswami in the festival.
