Employees in both the government and private sectors in Telangana may face salary deductions
Employees in both the government and private sectors in Telangana may face salary deductions if they do not adequately support their parents, following the passage of the Telangana Employees Accountability and Monitoring of Parental Support Bill, 2026, in the state Assembly.
According to the proposed law, dependent parents will have the right to claim up to 15% of their working child’s gross monthly income, with a maximum limit of ₹10,000, to cover basic necessities like food, housing, clothing, and healthcare.
If parents are neglected, the Bill allows senior citizens to file complaints with designated authorities, including the District Collector, to secure a portion of their child’s salary.
