BHUBANESWAR TO GET T-SHAPED FLYOVER, NEW ROAD, AND ROUNDABOUT TO EASE TRAFFIC BETWEEN JAYDEV VIHAR AND CRP SQUARE
A new T-shaped flyover, parallel road, and roundabout aim to transform one of Bhubaneswar’s busiest traffic corridors.
Bhubaneswar is set for a major infrastructure upgrade as the Odisha government plans to construct a T-shaped flyover and improve road connectivity between Jaydev Vihar and CRP Square. The project aims to reduce congestion and enhance traffic flow on one of the city’s busiest corridors.
A new parallel road connecting Jaydev Vihar to CRP Square via Ekamra Kanan Park is being developed, passing through Salia Sahi and integrating with the existing flyover network. Authorities expect the road to be completed by the end of April and operational by May 15.
To further streamline traffic, a roundabout will be constructed at the junction of the 900-metre stretch. Road widening, removal of electric poles, and relocation of infrastructure are currently underway to facilitate the development.
Officials have also proposed future connectivity from Nandankanan to KIIT via Raghunathpur Jali, along with plans for a T-shaped flyover. The initiative is part of Bhubaneswar’s broader urban mobility strategy to improve connectivity, reduce congestion, and support growing traffic demand.
