Maharashtra: Not invited to cricket tournament, local leader wrecks pitch with tractor

MUMBAI: (Apr 20) A cricket tournament final in Jalgaon district of Maharashtra was disrupted after a local politician drove a tractor onto the pitch as he was angry over not being invited, officials said on Sunday.

The incident occurred on April 12 during the final of the MLA Trophy cricket tournament in Dharangaon, more than 400 kms from Mumbai.

According to officials, the political leader—who serves as the municipal council president of Dharangaon—was upset over not being invited to the event by the organisers.
