Request for Resolution of Long-standing Pay Scale Issue of 13 TET Teachers of Tripura in Light of Established Precedent

PRESS RELEASE
18 April 2026
The Tripura TET Teachers’ Welfare Association (TTTWA) has submitted a formal representation to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Manik Saha and the Hon’ble Finance Minister of Tripura, seeking an early and considerate resolution of a long-pending service-related issue concerning 13 Graduate Teachers under the Elementary Education Department.
The representation, submitted by the Association’s Secretary Ajay Pal, respectfully highlights that the concerned teachers have rendered continuous and dedicated service since their initial appointment in 2010. Although they fulfilled the eligibility criteria for regular pay scale upon completion of five years of service, their cases remain pending due to certain administrative and legal complexities.

The Association has drawn kind attention to a similar case involving Rajen Datta, wherein the benefit of regular pay scale was granted in 2020.
This was effected vide Memo No. P.1(163-1)-DEE/ESTT(LA)/2020(L-6)/5333, dated 06/10/2020, thereby establishing a clear administrative precedent.
In this context, the Association has humbly requested that a similar approach may kindly be considered in the present cases to ensure parity, fairness, and consistency.

Background of the Issue
The teachers were initially appointed as Graduate Teachers (GT) in 2010.
They became eligible for regular pay scale after completing five years of service.
Due to certain unforeseen legal complications, their services were disrupted. They passed Tet 1 and 2 . Due to shortage of GT post few of them jointed in UGT and got regular pay scale.
The qualified TET teachers were re-appointed as GT (TET-II) in 2021.
However, their entitlement to regular pay scale has not yet been fully resolved.
Key Requests Submitted
The Association has respectfully requested the Government to consider the following:
Early resolution of the pending matter at the level of the Finance Department;
Grant of regular pay scale considering past continuous service;
Extension of benefits from the date of rejoining as GT in 2021;
Consideration of a suitable policy decision, if required, on humanitarian and equitable grounds.
Statement from the Association
The Association expresses its sincere hope that the Government, under the leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister Manik Saha, and finance minister pranjit Singha will take a compassionate and judicious view of the matter and facilitate an early resolution in the interest of justice and fairness
