Hoshiarpur/April 17/Daljeet Ajnoha
Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain today reviewed the ongoing welfare schemes, development works and projects in the district and directed officials to ensure regular monitoring so that benefits reach people at the grassroots level. She also asked departments to give priority to the timely disposal of public issues.
At a meeting held at the local District Administrative Complex in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioners and SDMs, Jain instructed that the process of issuing cards under the Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana be accelerated through special camps in villages. She said that 2.60 lakh cards have already been made in the district and the remaining eligible families would also be covered soon, with adequate teams already deployed for the task.
Jain also reviewed preparations for the upcoming drug and socio-economic census in the district and said enumerators should be properly briefed on the process, which will be carried out through a dedicated mobile app. She said the district administration is in the final stages of readiness for the exercise.
The Deputy Commissioner further directed officials to make timely and adequate arrangements to deal with any flood-like situation, and asked SDMs to visit sensitive areas regularly to ensure preventive measures are put in place. She reviewed the current status of the guide bund at village Rada in Tanda and sought necessary action for the construction of a new embankment on the left bank of the Beas at Motla-Mehtabpur.
Jain also reviewed works related to “Mera Ghar Mera Naam”, e-registration, pending mutation cases, digital crop survey, mining, water supply and revenue department activities, while asking SDMs to continuously monitor projects and schemes within their respective jurisdictions.
