*Day 2 Relief Work Update – Vikas Nagar Fire, Lucknow. Lucknow*AMUOBA

Lucknow*AMUOBA Lucknow continued its relief efforts on the second day for the fire-affected families of Vikas Nagar.

AMUOBA Lucknow continued its relief efforts on the second day for the fire-affected families of Vikas Nagar. Food packets, utensils, clothes, towels, and other essential items were distributed among the victims.

While many organisations are actively contributing, the ground situation reflects certain challenges—there is an oversupply of food with limited takers, lack of space to store clothes, and instances of outsiders attempting to take undue advantage. The situation remains somewhat chaotic.

In view of this, AMUOBA Lucknow has decided to temporarily pause its relief distribution for a few days, anticipating that the initial surge of support may subside, allowing for more structured and need-based assistance.

The Secretary AMUOBA Lucknow, Ms. Shahla Haque, has appealed to all NGOs to come together on a common platform to ensure better coordination and effective utilisation of resources.

Those present today included Dr. Suhail Ahmad Farooqui, Ms. Shahla Haque, Ms. Fauzia Rahman Abbasi, Ms. Imrana Azmat, Ms. Shazia Farooqui, myself, and others.

Rehabilitation is a long-term process that demands consistency, patience, and collective effort. United and well-coordinated actions will yield more meaningful and sustainable outcomes.
