AIMIS Delegation Meets UP Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana to Discuss Community Welfare and Educational Reform

Lucknow: A delegation from the All India Muslim Intellectual Society (AIMIS) met with the Honorable Speaker of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Shri Satish Mahana, at his office today.

The delegation comprised distinguished intellectuals and academics, including Prof. Abbas Ali Mahdi (Vice-Chancellor, Era University), Dr. Ammar Anis Nagrami (General Secretary, AIMIS), Dr. Yasir Ansari (Head of Urdu Department, Mumtaz P.G. College), Engr. Mustajab Ahmed, Ahmad Najam, and Ahmad Nagrami (Convenor, AIMIS).

Key Discussions and Memorandum
During the meeting, the delegation submitted a formal memorandum and engaged in an in-depth discussion regarding the social, educational, and economic challenges facing the Muslim minority community in the state. The primary focus was on:

Improving the educational landscape for the minority community.

Expanding technical and vocational training opportunities for the youth.

Ensuring that government welfare schemes reach eligible beneficiaries effectively.

Developing a strategic roadmap for holistic community development.

Call for Communal Harmony
The Society also urged that, in view of the upcoming Uttar Pradesh elections, strict measures be taken against the use of divisive or communal rhetoric. They emphasized that individuals delivering hate speech should face rigorous legal action to maintain social fabric and harmony.

Recognition of Era University
Honorable Speaker Satish Mahana lauded the contributions of Era University, noting that he consistently receives positive updates regarding their academic excellence. In response, Prof. Abbas Ali Mahdi highlighted the significant achievements of the university’s medical college. Impressed by the progress, the Speaker expressed his desire to visit the campus and interact with the students personally.

A Positive Outlook
Shri Satish Mahana maintained a highly constructive and supportive stance throughout the dialogue. He commended the intellectual class of the Muslim community for their proactive efforts to increase mainstream participation and contribute to the state's progress through education.

The meeting concluded with Dr. Ammar Nagrami presenting the Speaker with literature from the All India Payam-e-Insaniyat Forum, a movement founded by the renowned Islamic scholar Maulana Syed Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi (Ali Mian Nadwi).
