In continuation of its sustained campaign against drug abuse, District Police Poonch, in coordination with the District Administration Poonch, organized a comprehensive Drug Awareness Camp at Government Higher Secondary School, Chandak under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teaching staff, and members of the local community. During the session, officials from the Police and Civil Administration sensitized the participants about the harmful effects of drug abuse, its social and legal consequences, and the urgent need for collective action to eradicate the menace from society.

Special emphasis was laid on the role of youth in building a drug-free future, encouraging them to stay vigilant and act as responsible citizens by spreading awareness within their communities. The participants were also informed about the legal provisions related to drug offences and the importance of early intervention and prevention.

Subsequently, an awareness rally was conducted from Higher Secondary School Chandak to Kalai Bridge to reinforce the message of a drug-free society. Approximately 200–250 students, along with respected members of the local community, actively participated in the rally, carrying placards and raising slogans against drug abuse.

The initiative reflects the firm commitment of District Police Poonch and the District Administration to achieve the objectives of the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan through continuous awareness, community participation, and proactive measures.
