Rehabilitation Festival–Annual Sports Meet 2026' Celebrated at Hoshiarpur District De-Addiction Rehabilitation Centre

The District De-Addiction Rehabilitation Centre in Hoshiarpur hosted the Rehabilitation Festival under its Annual Sports Meet 2026 with great enthusiasm and zeal. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Swati Sheemar graced the event as the chief guest and motivated the players and staff.
On this occasion, Dr. Swati Sheemar extended heartfelt Baisakhi greetings to all present and urged the youth to embrace sports, stating that they promote mental and physical well-being. She emphasized that sports foster positive thinking and serve as a vital tool to stay away from drugs.
The entire programme was smoothly organized under the chairmanship of Dr. Jasleen Kaur, Medical Officer. Under her supervision, various indoor and traditional games were held for inmates and staff, including volleyball, badminton, tug-of-war, spoon-lemon race, chess, and more. Participants took part with immense enthusiasm.
Winners of the various competitions were honoured with medals and trophies. In the spoon-lemon race, staff member Amandeep Tiwari secured first place.
Dr. Jasleen Kaur congratulated all winners, noting that sports build enthusiasm and self-confidence in youth and are the most important means to lead a drug-free life. She motivated all inmates to make sports a part of their daily routine.
The event was sponsored by Yogesh Chandra, MD of B.D. Option, who provided special support for its success.
