Political leaders, civil society members and well-wishers gathered in large numbers at the India Islamic Cultural Centre on Tuesday evening to attend a memorial gathering and dua in memory of senior Congress leader and former Union minister Mohsina Kidwai, who passed away on April 8 at the age of 94.
The event, held at the B. S. Abdur Rahman Auditorium, saw a packed hall with attendees offering prayers and tributes to Kidwai’s decades-long public service and contributions to Indian politics. Speakers at the gathering remembered her as a respected parliamentarian and one of the most prominent Muslim women leaders in national politics, known for her commitment to social welfare and public life.
Organisers said the memorial gathering was convened to honour her legacy and provide an opportunity for colleagues, admirers and members of the community to collectively remember her life and service.
