Workforce living under immense pressure due to govt's failed policies: Cong on Noida protest
NEW DELHI: (Apr 15) With the workers' protest turning violent in Noida, the Congress on Tuesday claimed that India's workforce is living under immense pressure due to the "failed policies" of the Modi government and that there is a deep sense of despair among workers.
Vehicles, including police SUVs, were torched, public property vandalised, and stone-pelting reported from industrial hubs in Noida on Monday as protests by factory workers demanding a wage hike turned violent, paralysing traffic.
The Uttar Pradesh Police dispersed the agitators and later registered FIRs against two X handles, charging them with spreading rumours linked to the unrest. The state government also formed a special panel to address the crisis.
