Ambedkar's vision continues to guide India's development journey: Minister Virendra Kumar

NEW DELHI: (Apr 14) Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Virendra Kumar on Tuesday said the vision of Dr B R Ambedkar continues to guide India's journey towards inclusive development, asserting that the ongoing initiatives of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government reflect his ideals.

Addressing an event here on Dr B R Ambedkar's 135th birth anniversary, the minister said, "The life of Dr B R Ambedkar was full of struggles. He was not just an individual but an ideology."

"In the darkest of times, he stood as a torch of light. He worked tirelessly for the dignity of women, upliftment of Dalits, welfare of workers and for every section of society. With deep compassion, he initiated efforts to ensure justice, equality and fraternity for all," he said.
