Srinagar, April 10: In a major boost to international employment opportunities for Indian youth, representatives from Jammu & Kashmir have marked a significant presence in Russia as part of an official Government of India delegation.
Majid Shafi (AL-YAFUR Pvt. Ltd.) and Tahir Sufi (Overseas Recruitment Bureau), representing J&K under the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), are currently in St. Petersburg participating in the Russia Skill & Employment Forum.
The high-level delegation, led by Minister of State for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Jayant Chaudhary, has successfully facilitated 60,000 work visas for Indians for the current year—opening unprecedented global avenues, particularly for the youth of Jammu & Kashmir.
During the visit, the delegation engaged with leading international companies and stakeholders to establish recruitment partnerships and explore long-term workforce collaboration. The initiative reflects the Centre’s strategic push to expand overseas employment and skill mobility for Indian professionals.
Speaking on the development, members of the delegation emphasized that this milestone will not only strengthen India-Russia workforce ties but also provide a transformative platform for skilled youth from J&K to access global job markets.
