BJP Releases ‘Sankalp Patra’ for Bengal Polls

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on 10th April 2026 Friday unveiled the Bharatiya Janata Party’s election manifesto, titled ‘Sankalp Patra’, ahead of the crucial West Bengal Assembly elections. The document outlines the party’s roadmap for governance, development, and welfare if voted to power in the state.
Addressing a press conference in Kolkata, Shah positioned the manifesto as a vision to transform Bengal “from despair to development,” while sharply criticizing the ruling government’s performance over the past decade.

The Sankalp Patra includes several major announcements aimed at women, employees, and economic development:

₹3,000 monthly financial aid to women through direct bank transfers.

33% reservation for women in government jobs, including police.

Implementation of the 7th Pay Commission within 45 days

Uniform Civil Code (UCC) to be introduced within six months

Strong action against infiltration with a “zero tolerance” policy
