Who will Take Bengal ?
As West Bengal approaches the 2026 Assembly elections, the ruling party led by Mamata Banerjee appears to be in a strong and commanding position. The Trinamool Congress (TMC) continues to dominate the political landscape with its deep-rooted grassroots network and popular welfare initiatives.
Political observers note that TMC has successfully maintained strong rural and minority support, along with significant backing from women voters due to its social schemes. Mamata Banerjee’s leadership remains a key factor, with many voters still seeing her as the most reliable face for Bengal’s governance.
On the other hand, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), despite aggressive campaigning, is yet to fully bridge the gap. Internal challenges and limited local leadership strength in several regions have made it difficult for the party to match TMC’s organizational hold.
Current political trends suggest that while the contest remains active, TMC is clearly ahead and on track to retain power, possibly securing another comfortable victory.
Bottom line: TMC holds a decisive advantage going into 2026, with the opposition still playing catch-up.
