Traffic Police Conduct Surprise Violation Drive at Batmaloo Chowk

Srinagar,Apr 8: Senior Superintendent of Police SSP Traffic City Srinagar, along with ASP Traffic City and Dy SP, conducted a surprise traffic checking and violation drive at Batmaloo Chowk on Wednesday.
​During the drive, traffic violators were challaned, and appropriate action was initiated to ensure compliance with traffic rules, as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC.
​Speaking to media persons, SSP Aijaz said the drive was conducted following numerous complaints about mechanics repairing vehicles on footpaths.
​“These footpaths are meant for pedestrians, but encroachment by mechanics forces pedestrians to walk on the road, which can sometimes lead to accidents,” he explained.
​He added that the drive was also aimed at creating awareness among the public about safe traffic practices and proper use of footpaths.
​SSP Aijaz urged citizens not to occupy footpaths and requested everyone to cooperate with authorities to maintain pedestrian safety and smooth traffic flow.
