Crime and Security Review Meeting Convened by SSP Poonch

A comprehensive Crime and Security Review Meeting was convened by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Poonch, Sh. Shafket Hussain (JKPS), to assess the prevailing law and order situation, review ongoing investigations, and formulate strategies for strengthening policing across the district.
The meeting was attended by DySP Headquarters Poonch, SDPO Mendhar, other senior officers of the district, and all Station House Officers (SHOs).
During the meeting, a detailed review of crime trends, including cases related to narcotics, illegal mining, theft, and other criminal activities, was undertaken. Special emphasis was laid on the effective implementation of the NDPS Act and stringent action against drug peddlers and anti-social elements. The SSP stressed the importance of proactive policing, quality investigation, and maintaining a robust intelligence network at all levels.
Officers were directed to intensify night patrolling, strengthen naka checking, and ensure visible policing to deter criminal activities. Emphasis was also laid on enhancing coordination among various units and strengthening preventive measures to maintain peace and public order.
The SSP Poonch reiterated the need for professional investigation, timely disposal of cases, and strict adherence to legal procedures. He also underscored the importance of accountability, discipline, and prompt response to public grievances.
The meeting concluded with a firm resolve to further strengthen the security grid and continue sustained efforts to curb crime and ensure a safe and secure environment for the public.
