130 years record: It's the highest rainfall ever in April, leaving behind the record of April 4, 1896 (51.1mm).
Torrential rain: 65mm in Shivajinagar, 104.2mm in Khadakwasala, and 84mm of rain recorded in NDA (NDA) area.
Scenes of devastation: Heavy rains made roads flooded, vehicles stuck and seen flowing.
Loss of life: 60-year-old woman died and two others injured after tree fell on Sihangad road.
Affected areas: Most impact in Shivajinagar, Hadapsar, Chinchwad, and Khadakwasala.
Electricity and traffic: Power outages in many areas and traffic jam situation. Pune on 2 April 2026, almost 3 hours of severe unseasonal rain has broken the record of 130 years. According to IMD, Shivajinagar had 65mm and more than 100mm of rain in some areas, causing roads to rivers, vehicles swept away and lives were disrupted. A woman should die due to falling tree in this disaster
