Sexual Assault Cases: Two Youths Arrested in Hubballi

Hubballi, April 05: In two separate cases reported in Hubballi, police have arrested two young men in connection with alleged sexual assault cases involving two women from different communities. Both accused have been remanded to judicial custody.

The arrested individuals have been identified as gym trainer Sameer Mulla and Mufeez Maniyar.

According to the police, the accused allegedly befriended the victims and later recorded private photos and videos of them. They are accused of using these materials to blackmail the victims and repeatedly sexually assault them. Both have been arrested and remanded to judicial custody.

The incidents involving Sameer Mulla and Mufeez Maniyar fall under the jurisdiction of the Vidyanagar and Keshwapur police stations, respectively. The victims reportedly met the accused, developed friendships, which later turned into relationships.

Hubballi-Dharwad Police Commissioner N. Shashikumar, speaking to the media, confirmed that a complaint was filed by a victim at the Keshwapur Police Station. Initially, the two were friends, but later the accused allegedly sexually assaulted her. A case has been registered against Mufeez Maniyar, and he has been arrested and remanded to judicial custody.

The Commissioner further stated that the allegations are under investigation. In a separate development, Sameer Mulla has also been arrested after being taken into custody and questioned.

Police have confirmed that further investigation is ongoing in both cases.
