DC briefs media on Current COVID Care Scenario in Kishtwar


_Vaccination for 18-44 age bar kickstarted in Kishtwar_
 
Kishtwar, June 15: 

Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma  in media briefing today revealed  that district administration in collaboration with the Health department and line departments have kick-started the Vaccination drive for the 18-44 age bar persons in the dostrict.

Yesterday,the Vaccination drive was started at  4 designated Vaccination points which were established at DH kishtwar,NHPC hospital Kishtwar,DTC Kishtwar and Health and  Wellness Centre Bhera Bhatta, informed DC Kishtwar.

He further informed that the administration is going to scale up the vaccination drive by ensuring the incessant supply of vaccines and by increasing the Vaccination points across the district.

He appealed the masses particularly the age appropriate persons who are most vulnerable to the Covid infection get themselves administered by vaccine on priority basis to effectively contain the spread of virus.

He further stated that  district Kishtwar has recorded 74% coverage in  vaccination drive of 45 yrs and above age bar persons till date besides door to door Vaccination drive is being conducted in the district to cover the leftover beneficiaries in clean sweep mode, he informed media persons.

He briefed that  at present 13 micro containment zones have been de-notified after getting fully satisfied with the negative COVID reports in the testing in these areas whereas rest of the  micro-containment zone will be de-notified as and when the administration is fully satisfied about the safety in these areas.

While addressing the media persons, the DC informed that till date  1521 cases have been reported, out of which 1340 have recovered and only 167 are active at present.

He briefed that the recovery rate has continuosly picked up and the positivity rate is flattened this week and have been recorded as 2.70%.

As for as the total  deaths witnessed in district is concerned,it is 17 mostly  with co-morbidity or old aged persons, he informed.

Concerned  tehsildars and BDOs under the supervision of SDMs  are closely  monitoring   the progress on vaccination and  the Covid Mitigation measures in the district,he informed.

While giving detail about the COVID mitigation and containment measures, he informed that sufficient oxygen cylinders and concentrators are available in the District, besides 859 Covid Kits containing essential medicines and oximeter  have been distributed among the COVID  positive patients till date. 

He appealed the masses to stick to  the COVID19 appropriate behaviour and follow the SOPs in letter and spirit as the virus has to be wiped out completely.
