Illegal Transportation of Bovines Foiled; Vehicle Seized in Poonch

In a continued drive against illegal activities, District Police Poonch achieved success in curbing unlawful transportation of bovine animals.

Acting on routine checking, a police party intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration number JK12A-0688 at Chandimarh, which was on its way from Buffliaz towards Kashmir. During inspection, the vehicle was found carrying five bovine animals without any valid permission, in violation of existing rules and regulations.

The driver of the vehicle was apprehended on the spot, and the vehicle along with the bovines was seized.
In this regard, cognizance of the matter has been taken and further legal proceedings have been initiated as per law.
