CYBER AWARENESS PROGRAMME CONDUCTED BY CYBER POLICE STATION POONCH AT BPP BANDICHECHIAN


Poonch, April 02

In continuation of its sustained efforts to combat cybercrime and promote digital safety among the masses, Cyber Police Station Poonch organized a comprehensive Cyber Awareness Programme at BPP Bandichechian.

The programme witnessed active participation from a large number of civil persons, who were sensitized about the growing menace of cyber frauds and the need for vigilance while using digital platforms. The officials elaborated on the latest cybercrime trends, including phishing attacks, OTP frauds, social media scams, fake job offers, online financial frauds, and other emerging threats.

During the interactive session, participants were educated on various precautionary measures such as not sharing OTPs, passwords, or banking details with unknown persons, verifying suspicious links and calls, and ensuring secure usage of mobile applications and online banking services.

Special emphasis was laid on timely reporting of cybercrime incidents to prevent financial losses. The public was informed about the National Cyber Crime Helpline Number 1930, the official reporting portal www.cybercrime.gov.in⁠�, and the Cyber Police Station Poonch helpline number 9541015832 for immediate assistance.

The participants actively engaged with the police team, raised queries, and appreciated the initiative taken by Cyber Police Poonch in spreading awareness at the grassroots level. The programme concluded with a commitment to continue such awareness drives in the future to build a cyber-safe society.
