Rana meets delegations; assures prompt redressal of public issues

JAMMU, APRIL 02: A delegation of the Contractors Coordination Committee (CCC) today called on Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, and apprised him of issues concerning the release of pending payments under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in Jammu & Kashmir.

The delegation highlighted that contractors across the Union Territory are facing delays in the settlement of work bills and sought the Minister’s intervention for early signing of the reform-linked MoU and timely release of funds to clear pending liabilities and ensure uninterrupted execution of vital public works.

During the day, several other delegations from Samba, Reasi and other areas also met the Minister and projected issues and demands related to their respective regions and sectors.

Among the key concerns raised were the construction of bunds to protect agricultural land and infrastructure, and development of proper drainage systems to address waterlogging and sanitation issues. Another delegation urged the release of pending wages under the PHE Division Kishtwar.

Various delegations also highlighted individual service matters pertaining to their departments and sought timely resolution.

The Minister gave a patient hearing to all the delegations and assured that all genuine issues would be examined on priority. He directed the concerned authorities to look into the matters and take necessary action for their early resolution.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to public welfare, the Minister emphasized that focused efforts are underway to address grassroots concerns and strengthen basic infrastructure across all regions.
