Anantnag Police Seized Contraband in Kokernag, Two Arrested

Continuing its sustained efforts against the menace of drugs, Anantnag Police achieved a significant success in Kokernag area.

A police party from Police Station Kokernag, along with SOG Kokernag, established a naka at Hangulgund, Kokernag. During naka checking, two persons were noticed roaming in suspicious circumstances. Acting swiftly, the police party tactfully apprehended them for questioning.
During their search, contraband substances resembling brown sugar weighing approximately 5.50 grams and 6.40 grams were recovered from their possession.
On preliminary questioning, the accused disclosed their identities as Abid Ahmad Naikoo S/o Abdul Gani and
Suhail Ahmad Dar S/o Mohd Ashraf both residents of Nagam, Kokernag.

In this regard, a case FIR No. 18/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kokernag, and further investigation has been taken up.
