The victim, a member of the tribal Bakarwal community, had reportedly been missing after an alleged physical assault earlier in the week. Despite repeated pleas from the family, the Miran Sahib Police Station is being accused of failing to take swift action to locate the boy or detain the suspects involved.
"When it comes to the influential, the police act instantly. But for the poor and the marginalized, there is only silence and closed doors," protesters stated during a sit-in outside the station.
