UP: Inspector, SI suspended for ‘manhandling’ visually-impaired complainant in Budaun
BUDAUN (UP): (Mar 29) An inspector and a sub-inspector posted at the Bisauli police station in Budaun district have been suspended after a viral video showed them purportedly abusing and shoving a visually-impaired complainant out of the police station, officials said on Saturday.
SSP Ankita Sharma, who ordered the suspensions, said that according to a written complaint submitted by the aggrieved party, a motorcycle collided with an e-rickshaw on March 3, in which the bike rider, Suresh Pal, and his visually-impaired uncle, Morpal, sustained injuries.
Morpal lodged a formal complaint about the accident at the Bisauli police station. Later, the matter was reported on the chief minister's portal, alleging inaction by the police.
