HC dismisses jailed MP Amritpal's plea for quashing Punjab govt's order declining temporary release
CHANDIGARH: (Mar 28) The Punjab and Haryana High Court Friday dismissed jailed MP Amritpal Singh's plea seeking quashing of the Punjab government's order declining his application for temporary release to attend the budget session of Parliament.
A division bench of Chief Justice Sheel Nagu and Justice Sanjiv Berry held that there is "no constitutional or legal infirmity" in the impugned order.
The court also observed that "national interests are paramount when compared with personal interests".
