Stolen Gold Ring Recovered; Accused Woman Apprehended : District Police Poonch

District Police Poonch has successfully solved a theft case registered at Police Station Poonch.

On 20 Mar 2026, FIR No. 40/2026 under Section 305 BNS was registered on the written complaint of Ms. Rezwana Kouser, who reported theft of her gold ring from her residence at Jhullas while she had gone to Banpat to attend a funeral.

During the course of investigation, a police team of Police Post Jhullas acted promptly and with technical assistance traced the stolen property. The gold ring, weighing approximately 3.970 grams and valued at around ₹49,000, was recovered from a goldsmith to whom it had been sold.

Subsequently, the accused woman, identified as Rubina Kouser, was apprehended. Investigation revealed that she had sold the stolen ring to the goldsmith in Poonch and received ₹41,000 in cash, which has also been recovered from her possession.

The swift recovery and arrest reflects the commitment and efficiency of District Police Poonch in curbing crime and ensuring justice.
