JJM Contractors’ Association Meets Jal Shakti Minister,Javed Rana

Jammu, March 24: A delegation of the Contractors’ Association associated with the #JalJeevanMission (JJM) today met Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology, Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, to raise concerns regarding pending payments for completed works, including retrofitting schemes under JJM.

The delegation highlighted that delays in the release of payments for executed works are adversely affecting project implementation as well as the financial stability of contractors.

They urged the Minister to intervene and facilitate the early clearance of outstanding dues.

The Minister gave a patient hearing to the issues and assured the delegation that all genuine concerns would be addressed on priority.

He informed them that the matter has already been taken up with the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, for prompt resolution.

Reiterating the Government’s commitment to the effective implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission, the Minister emphasized that timely completion of drinking water supply schemes and ensuring smooth financial flows remain key priorities.

He assured that necessary steps would be taken to streamline the payment process and address bottlenecks.
