Over 9,800 runners take part in Bastar Heritage Marathon in Chhattisgarh

JAGDALPUR: (Mar 22) More than 9,800 runners participated in the 'Bastar Heritage Marathon 2026' in Chhattisgarh's Jagdalpur district on Sunday, setting a new record and reflecting the region's growing peace and development, a government official said.

The marathon began at Lalbagh in Jagdalpur city and concluded near the scenic Chitrakote Waterfalls, popularly known as the "Niagara of India".

Speaking on the occasion, State Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap said that the marathon marked a milestone in Bastar's journey towards peace and prosperity.
