Preet Kohli, Assistant Director of the Youth Services Department, Hoshiarpur, stated that youth are the true asset of the nation and guiding them in the right direction is a shared responsibility of both society and the government. He said this during a special interaction with renowned Educationist and social worker Sanjeev Kumar.
He informed that the department is running several programs and activities for the overall development of youth. These include cultural programs, sports competitions, and awareness campaigns, which are proving helpful in channelizing the energy of young people in a positive direction.
Preet Kohli further said that the main objective of the department is to strengthen cultural values among youth, keep them away from social evils like drug abuse, and bring out their hidden talents. He also added that the department consistently plays a leading role in various awareness and cultural initiatives organized by the district administration.
He emphasized that in the present time, youth need proper guidance so that they can utilize their energy in constructive activities and contribute to the nation’s progress. The department is continuously working in this direction and will introduce more new initiatives in the future.
Preet Kohli appealed to the youth to take maximum benefit from government schemes, stay away from drugs, and enhance their skills to become role models in society.
