Govt Blocks 300 Illegal Betting Apps, Total Ban Crosses 8,400

Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology ne 20 March 2026 ko 300 illegal betting aur gambling platforms par ban laga diya hai. Iske saath hi ab tak total 8,400 websites aur apps India mein block kiye ja chuke hain.

Yeh action un platforms ke khilaf liya gaya hai jo sports betting, offshore casinos, satta networks aur real-money gaming bina proper regulation ke chala rahe the. Government ke mutabiq in apps se logon ko financial loss, addiction aur fraud ka khatra badh raha tha.

Reports ke hisaab se 4,900 se zyada platforms sirf Online Gaming Act ke baad block kiye gaye hain, jo dikhata hai ki sarkar ab is sector mein aur sakhti kar rahi hai. Authorities ne warning di hai ki illegal apps ko promote ya advertise karne par 2-3 saal tak ki jail aur heavy fine ho sakta hai.

Is crackdown ka maqsad youth ko gambling addiction se bachana aur financial fraud aur money laundering jaise crimes ko rokna hai.
