ECI Imposes Strict Rules on Social Media Ads Before 2026 Elections

Election Commission of India ne announce kiya hai ki ab koi bhi political party ya candidate bina approval ke TV ya social media par advertisement nahi chala sakta.

Har political ad ko publish karne se pehle Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) se pre-certification lena zaroori hoga. Yeh rule TV, radio, social media platforms, e-papers aur bulk SMS par bhi lagu hoga.

Candidates ko nomination ke waqt apne sabhi official social media accounts ki details affidavit mein deni hogi taaki unki online activity monitor ki ja sake. Iske alawa digital ads par hone wala kharcha bhi election expenditure mein count kiya jayega aur iska hisaab 75 din ke andar dena hoga.

ECI ne paid news ke khilaf bhi sakht stance liya hai aur MCMC ko nigrani badhane ke liye kaha hai. Yeh faisla Assam, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu aur West Bengal mein hone wale elections se pehle liya gaya hai.
