Inspection of Nandigama Kendriya Vidyalaya's Temporary Building MLA Tangirala Sowmya Expresses Dismay Over Dilapidated Condition

Aima Media, Nandigama, March 21

Measures regarding the establishment of the Kendriya Vidyalaya are gaining momentum. To ensure that the students' academic year is not wasted while the construction of the permanent building is underway, officials have initiated steps to temporarily commence classes in the old Polytechnic College building located on Madhira Road. Against this backdrop, the MLA, accompanied by Revenue and Municipal officials, inspected the building on Friday. Upon observing the deplorable conditions within the structure, she expressed her severe displeasure. Sheidentified several issues, including broken windows, damaged doors, non-functional fans and lights, and a complete lack of drinking water facilities. She also took strong exception to the fact that the surrounding premises were strewn with garbage and debris. She remarked that despite claims that repairs had been undertaken during the previous administration, the building's current state of complete dilapidation stands as clear evidence of negligence. She issued directives to the officials to prepare the temporary building in a manner that aligns with national-level standards. She instructed that immediate repairs be carried out on the building, including painting, the restoration of electrical amenities, and the completion of necessary sanitation works. The officials gave assurances that they would commence the work immediately. Speaking on the same occasion, she announced that, with the cooperation of the local MP, funds have been sanctioned for the Detailed Project Report (DPR) required for the construction of the permanent building. He stated that classes would be conducted in a temporary building in Raghavapuram until the construction of the permanent structure is completed. He further announced that the admission process for classes 1 through 5 would soon be initiated through both online and offline modes.
