Thane civic body backs naming of new railway station after Anand Dighe
THANE: (Mar 20) The civic body in Maharashtra's Thane has unanimously passed a resolution appreciating the decision to name the upcoming railway station between the city and the Mulund area after late Shiv Sena leader Anand Dighe, saying the move reflected the sentiments of residents.
The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC), in a release, stated that the Railways had decided to build the station in view of the rise in the number of commuters travelling between the city and Mulund, in neighbouring Mumbai.
"A resolution of appreciation regarding the naming of the new railway station being constructed by the Central Railway between Thane and Mulund after 'Anand Dighe' was unanimously passed during the general body meeting on Wednesday," the civic body stated.
