A horrific head-on collision between a minibus and a "Chhote Hathi" (small truck) near the Baddoan bridge on the Hoshiarpur-Chandigarh main highway at village Baddoan claimed the life of one person on the spot, leaving 12 others injured.According to reports, the victim was from a family in Village Chakfaloo and was traveling in the Chhote Hathi (PB 07 CF 4710), driven by Jassi, son of Sonu Ram. They were returning to their village after attending a funeral gathering at Jattpur in Chabbewal village. As they neared Baddowan village, a minibus (PB 07 CA 0435) heading from Garhshankar, driven by Gurmeet Singh, son of Shiv Kumar from Khera Kotli (Gurdaspur), rammed into them head-on.The man seated next to the driver, Karmchand son of Jallu, died at the scene. The other passengers injured include Sunita wife of Khaira, Samitri Devi wife of Mehr Chand, Kashmir Kaur wife of Late Jeet Ram, Resham Kaur wife of Jagan, Sunita wife of Shiv Kumar, Bholi wife of Late Gurmeet, Ambu Devi wife of Ratan Lal, Sheela Devi wife of Seva Ram, Balviro wife of Amarjeet, Kala Ram son of Jallu Ram, and Shindo wife of Amrik Ram—all residents of Chakfaloo.They received initial treatment at Civil Hospital Mahilpur, from where about eight of the seriously injured were referred to Civil Hospital Hoshiarpur. All passengers on the minibus escaped unharmed. Mahilpur police station team arrived at the scene and initiated further action.
