BJP's poll panel discusses candidates for upcoming Assembly polls
NEW DELHI: (Mar 19) The BJP's Central Election Committee held a meeting here on Wednesday to discuss and finalise the names of the party candidates for the upcoming Assembly polls in Assam and Puducherry.
The meeting, presided over by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Nitin Nabin, was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and party national general secretary (organisation) B L Santhosh, among others.
According to sources, the meeting is learnt to have extensively deliberated on the panel of names recommended by the respective state units.
