EAM Jaishankar Meets European Counterparts to Boost Bilateral Ties and Discuss West Asia Conflict

External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar met his German counterpart Johann Wadephul, Slovakian counterpart Juraj Blanár, Greek counterpart Giorgos Gerapetritis and Dutch counterpart Tom Berendsen. India and Germany exchanged valuable notes on the conflict in West Asia during the meeting. The two sides also took stock of the progress of bilateral relations following the State visit of Friedrich Merz to India. In a social media post, Dr Jaishankar said that the visit of Slovakian President Peter Pellegrini to India for the India AI Impact Summit has provided new momentum to the relations of both the countries.

They discussed the bilateral agenda, including furthering cooperation in manufacturing, defence and space. The External Affairs Minister said that the conversation with his Greek counterpart focused on enhancing diplomatic presence, strengthening connectivity and promoting trade. They also discussed the repercussions of the West Asia conflict. Dr Jaishankar congratulated the Netherlands Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen for his recent appointment. The two sides discussed advancing collaboration in semiconductors, AI, water management, and other cutting-edge technologies.
