Achievement of Charaideo District Dance Team: Multiple Success at International Festival in Puri, Odisha

The dance institution “Mou-Taal Kalakendra”, based in Borhat of Charaideo district, Assam, brought pride to the state by achieving remarkable success at the “3rd Shree Jagannathdham Mahotsav International Dance & Music Festival” held in Puri, Odisha on March 13 and 14.

Students of the institution participated in the National Dance, Music, Recitation & Mono Act Competition organized as part of the festival and secured several awards with their outstanding performances in different categories.

According to reports, Nang Aifa Gogoi secured first place in Sattriya Dance, while Aditi Sonowal won first place in Krishna Dance. Maini Garima Sharma secured second place in Sattriya Dance.

In the Dhol (traditional drum) performance category, Chao Aizef Gogoi won first place. In addition, Maini Garima Sharma and Nang Aifa Gogoi both secured first place in Folk Dance (Bihu).

Furthermore, Arati Masari Kalita was honored with the “Nritya Guru Samman” in recognition of her significant contribution to dance education.

It is noteworthy that this international cultural festival was organized by Utkal Yuva Sanskrutik Sangh, Cuttack (Odisha). The achievement has brought new pride to the cultural field of Charaideo district as well as Assam.
