Case against youth for making derogatory remarks against 'Maa Karni' in UP's Bhadohi
BHADOHI (UP): (Mar 15) A case has been registered against a youth in the Bhadohi district of Uttar Pradesh on the charges of making derogatory remarks on social media against 'Maa Karni', the clan deity of the Rajput community, a police official said on Sunday.
The police said that in connection with this matter, a case was registered on Saturday at the Chauri police station against Sachin Sonkar under sections 196(1) (Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony), 353(2) (statements conducing to public mischief) and 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) of the BNS based on a complaint filed by Raghavendra Pratap Singh, the district president of the Bhadohi Kshatriya Karni Sena.
SHO of Chauru Ram Sarikh Gautam, citing the case registered, said that the posts made on various social media platforms on Saturday allegedly used highly derogatory language regarding Maa Karni.
