Railways Extends New Delhi–Katra Special Train Service for Chaitra Navratri Rush

Taking into account the surge in passenger volume and convenience requirements, the Jammu Division of Northern Railway has decided to extend the operational period of the special reserved train No. 04081/04082 (New Delhi–Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Special).

The decision has been taken in view of the massive influx of devotees expected for the Darshan of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi during the auspicious occasion of Chaitra Navratri, ensuring a smoother and more comfortable journey for pilgrims.

Extended Train Schedule:

🚆 Train No. 04081 – New Delhi to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra
• Earlier: Feb 21 to Mar 8, 2026
• Extended: Mar 17 to Mar 30, 2026 (14 trips)

🚆 Train No. 04082 – Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to New Delhi
• Earlier: Feb 22 to Mar 9, 2026
• Extended: Mar 18 to Mar 31, 2026 (14 trips)

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal said the decision was taken due to the train’s immense popularity and 100% occupancy during earlier trips, which highlighted strong passenger demand. The extension will benefit devotees visiting for Mata Vaishno Devi Darshan as well as tourists travelling to Kashmir during Chaitra Navratri.

Passengers are advised to check the latest train timetable through Dial 139 or NTES before starting their journey.
